Support

Professional Help…

You don’t have to suffer in silence. There are lots of online resources if you’re stuck indoors that can be a huge help, such as…

Endometriosis devastates the lives of women and their families. Endometriosis UK helps them take back control by providing vital support services, reliable information and a community for those affected by endometriosis.

The Pain Toolkit is for people who live with persistent pain. It is not the last word in pain self-management but a handy guide to help you get started.

Cognitive behavioural therapy is a type of therapy used to treat a range of problems. It works to help you manage different situations or problems by changing the way you think and behave.

There are lots of support groups on social media but this is my favourite (I might be slightly biased because I know the admins!). When I joined the group I was welcomed with open arms. There’s always someone to answer any questions and they will support you in any way they can. The group has been created for people in the Hull & East Yorkshire area but you can still join if you live elsewhere.

The BSGE (The British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy) was originally founded in 1989 by a small group of consultant gynaecologists keen to promote the benefits of minimal access surgery for their patients. Severe Endometriosis should be treated in specialist centres and the BSGE will accredit centres where Gynaecologists work in appropriate clinical teams, audit their outcome and have sufficient workload to maintain their surgical skills. You can view the requirements necessary for hospitals to become an accredited Endometriosis Centre Here and you can view the list of accredited centres Here.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) provides national guidance and advice to improve health and social care. Please click Here to view the latest guidelines on the treatment and diagnosis of Endometriosis.
